The trailing violet is such a perfect evergreen ground cover that can take over a space with little effort, just give it shade, water and a little bit of attention. It produces a small purple and white flower that looks like a pansy but is a true violet species native to Australia. It prefers part sun/part shade and once established it can take some full sun. It's a compact grower that creeps along the ground filling in the empty spots in a landscape. The trailing violet can take over large areas of space pretty quickly so it's a nice alternative to sod that won't do well in shaded areas. It's a constant bloomer so you won't be disappointed. If using it in a pot then it will be perfect in a hanging basket and/or tall planter so it can cascade down the sides. Grows outdoors in zones 11-8; though in any colder region it should be grown in a container to bring in from frost.
The trailing violet is sold in a 6-inch pot and are currently about 7-10 inches wide x 5-7 inches high already with trails. Because it is a living plant we expedite shipping to make sure the plant arrives healthy and alive. Please read the section about our plants on our FAQs page for more information.
