Bromeliads are a tropical plant generally grown outdoors since they thrive in hot, humid, wet, sunny and shady environments.  Some can grow in full sun but most prefer filtered sun/shade.  If you live in a colder climate then growing bromeliads in containers is an easy way to bring them in from the cold since they will not survive a frost.  Bromeliads need ample watering since their center cup needs to be full but will rot if their roots remain in standing water for too long.  Think of the saying 'the cup runneth over' with bromeliads, as their cup needs to be flushed out with new water about every other week or when you see the water is getting gunky.  Please visit http://www.bromeliads.info/general-indoor-outdoor-bromeliad-care/ for a more in depth coverage on bromeliad care.  Please read the section about our plants on our FAQs page for more information.

The 'white jade pineapple' is a bromeliad.  This type of bromeliad is grown in full sun but can handle a little shade.  This pineapple is smaller than the yellow variety and grows up to 18-24 inches high x wide.   The 'white jade pineapple' is a light pale greenish/white color, almost pastel one could say.  The fruit is typically smaller than a traditional pineapple but don't let its size fool you.  This is one of the most delicious pineapples around, even the core is considered edible. This is a really unique bromeliad not many people have every had a chance to eat

Our 'white jade pineapple' is sold in a 3-gallon pot and is approx. 14-16 inches wide x 14-16inches high .  When you receive the bromeliad you will need to water it right away since we ship them with a dry center cup.   Because it is a living plant we expedite shipping to make sure the plant arrives healthy and alive.
